Description
The objective of Ningxia Taiyangshan 45MW Wind Farm Project (hereafter referred to as the proposed project) is to generate electricity using renewable wind resources. The power output will be delivered to the Northwest China Power Grid (NWPG) via Ningxia Power Grid.
The proposed project is located in Wuzhong City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, the People’s Republic of China. The proposed project will have a total installed capacity of 45MW. 60 wind turbines with a unit capacity of 750kW will be installed. When the proposed project is put into operation, the expected annual power delivered to the grid is 82,145MWh and the expected annual average emission reduction is 81,142tCO2e.
Clean and renewable energy will be utilized by the project for power generation, which is beneficial both environmentally and socially. The project will contribute to the local sustainable development through the following aspects:
·Reducing the emission of CO2 and other pollutants compared with fuel-fired power plant; ·Creating local employment opportunities during the construction and operation of the proposed project; 38 employment opportunities will be provided during the operation of the project. ·Reducing poverty, which is very important to Ningxia, a poverty-stricken region. The proposed project is a typical project consists with The Millennium Development Goals (MDG) of UN.
