Description

The Inner-Mongolia Ximeng Abag 49.5MW Wind Power Project (hereafter referred as “the project”) is located at Huitengliang, Abag Qi, Xilinguole Meng, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, People’s Republic of China. Xilinguole Jixianghuaya Wind Power Co., Ltd. is the project owner.

The objective of the project is to generate renewable electricity using wind resources and to sell the generated electricity to the North China Power Grid (NCPG). The project will install 33 wind turbine generators, each of which has a nominal capacity of 1,500kW, providing a total installed capacity of 49.5MW. The estimated annual electricity supplied to NCPG from the project is 117,810MWh. The project activity will contribute to greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions by replacing part of electricity generation of fossil fuel-fired power plants, and the expected annual emission reduction is 126,704 tCO2e.

The project will not only supply renewable electricity to the grid, but also contribute to sustainable development of the local community and the host country by means of:

Creating new employment opportunities and helping to improve the livelihood of local residents; Mitigating the pressure of local power supply; Promoting local economic development during both construction and operation periods of the project;

Reducing the emission of air pollutants like SO2, NOx and soot resulting from fossil fuel-fired power generation, compared with a business-as-usual scenario.
