Description
Hebei Weichang Longyuan Construction Investment Shanwanzi Wind Power Project (hereafter referred to as the proposed project) is a grid connected renewable energy project developed by Hebei Weichang Longyuan Construction Investment Wind Power Co., Ltd. The proposed project is to be located in Weichang County, Chengde City, Hebei Province, China. The proposed project involves the installation of 33 sets of Goldwind 70/1500 kW wind turbines, for a total installed capacity of 49.5 MW. The purpose of the proposed project is to generate electricity using wind power resources in the project region and to sell into North China Power Grid (NCPG) which is dominated by the fossil fuel fired power plants, as identified both the baseline scenario and the scenario existing prior to the start of the implementation of the proposed project activity which is that electricity delivered to the grid by the project activity would have otherwise been generated by the operation of grid-connected power plants and by the addition of new generation sources, as reflected in the combined margin (CM) calculations described in the “Tool to calculate the emission factor for an electricity system”.
It is estimated that the annual generated output will be 127,990 MWh, and as a result, 135,003 tonnes of CO2 emission reductions will be generated annually.

Being located in a power grid dominated by fossil fuel fired power plants, development of the ◆
proposed project will not only reduce GHG emissions but also mitigate local environmental pollution caused by air emissions from fossil fuel fired power plants; New 20 jobs will be generated; ◆
The implementation of the proposed project will be helpful to meet the energy demand, therefore, ◆
contribute to local economic development.
